Videocon has partnered with Microsoft to launch a Windows 10 LED TV, which it claims is the world’s first. The television is priced at Rs 39990 for the 32-inch model and Rs 52990 for the 40-inch one.

The Windows 10 LED TV will hit stores in India next month. The device acts as a hybrid television and computer. As per PTI, Videocon has equipped it with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, in-built Wi-Fi, a 1080p display, MHL slots, HDMI ports and 16GB of internal space, expandable via a microSD card.

Such a combination has been possible before with PC-on-a-stick devices. Videocon Head of Technology and Innovation Akshay Dhoot stated that the brand expects 5% of sales in the H2 period to come from the new TV and 3% from Android-powered television sets. The company is only releasing two variants of the TV for now.

Based on the feedback Videocon gets, it could introduce a 24-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch model of the Windows 10 TV. The variants would come out by the end of the year. The manufacturer hasn’t revealed how much the units would cost. While the brand currently has 55000 outlets across India, it plans to commence sales of the television in phases, starting with 60 stores located in upmarket areas.

Microsoft Director (Windows Business Group) Vineet Durani said the TV is intended to expand the reach of Windows 10 to more users. The operating software was launched in July and has since garnered over 110 million downloads. It’s free for all Windows 7 and 8 devices.

Like we said above, the Videocon Windows 10 LED TV can be bought in exchange of Rs 39990 and Rs 52990 for the 32-inch and 40-inch version, respectively.
