Motorola Moto X Play may arrive in India on September 14

The Motorola Moto X Play may be arriving in India soon based on teaser images posted on the brand’s Twitter page. Flipkart, the company’s official online partner, has additionally put up a dedicated page for the new handset on its website.

To recall, the Motorola Moto X Play was unveiled globally back in July, alongside the Moto G (3rd Gen) and the Moto X Style. The manufacturer’s Twitter posts hint at a smartphone with a 21MP camera, a battery life of up to 30 hours, and a water-repellant nano-coating. A teaser video touting the battery capacity of the phone has been released as well.

The Flipkart page for the Motorola device apparently had a countdown timer, according to a report by Android Authority. The clock suggested the handset would launch on September 14 at 2pm IST. It’s been taken down for unknown reasons since the news broke out. Still, the date indicates Indian consumers can look forward to buying it sometime in the near future.

There’s no official pricing for the Moto X Play as of now. It costs GBP 249 in the UK, which translates to roughly Rs 25400. Coming to its specs, the 4G-ready phone has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, a 3630mAh battery, 16GB of ROM, a 21MP rear lens, a 5MP front camera, a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB of RAM.
