Moto E (1st Gen) receiving Android 5.1 update in India

Motorola, which had promised timely updates for its Moto phones, is delivering compared to other vendors. Now the company has released the Android 5.1 update for the Moto E.


The Motorola Moto E (1st Gen) has started receiving the Android 5.1 update in India. The update, which is being rolled out to users over-the-air is expected to reach all moto E users in the country in the next few days. Interestingly, this would be the first Lollipop update for the Moto E and will take the handset directly from Android KitKat version to the Android 5.1 Lollipop version.

According to Motorola, the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the Moto E would bring the Lollipop specific changes like material design, enhanced notifications, Smart Lock and performance improvements as well as Motorola-specific tweaks like updated Motorola Assist & Ambient display.
