We reported earlier here that Gionee is going to launch Marathon M5 with dual battery in India in November 24, as we said Gionee launched their device on a event held in Bangalore
While the international Gionee Marathon M5 has 16GB of ROM and 2GB of RAM, the Indian model has 32GB of ROM and 3GB of RAM. The handset’s claim to fame is its massive 6020mAh battery setup, which is composed of 2 3010mAh batteries. The combination supposedly provides 4 days of continuous power.
The Marathon M5 further comes with an extreme mode which restricts tools like calls and messages to boost the standby time up to 62 hours at only 5% of charge. The device stands out from the crowd by virtue of also doubling up as a powerbank. Buyers will have to purchase a separate reverse charging cable for that to be possible, though.
The Gionee handset houses a 5.5-inch 720p super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3. It’s further been equipped with Hi-Fi audio technology. Under the hood, it’s fueled by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6735 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The device carries a 5MP front camera alongside a 13MP rear lens with LED flash and PDAF, which supposedly focuses photos within 0.3 seconds.
